Color-tinted photograph. From the reverse: "Old Senate House, Built 1676, Kingston. It was the first capitol of the State & the first Senate met in it in 1777. Kingston was founded in 1658. George Clinton the first Constitutional Governor of New York, was inaugurated at Kingston: July 30, 1777. He was born in Ulster County: was Governor of New York twenty-one years & became Vice-President of the United States."
