Color photograph of the entrance to the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. From the reverse: "Incorporated 1852. Approximately 491 beautiful rolling acres overlooking the Hudson River. Probably no acreage of its size in the country is so meticulously groomed or has such a large number of flowering shrubs & ornamental evergreens. Matthew Vassar, founder of Vassar College, & other notables are interred here."
